Programme Manager

What You will Do


ipOne are seeking an individual who will enhance ipOnes project team. You will be based in our Kilkenny office and report to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for managing the programme delivery of our Telecoms projects and ensure that correct processes are in place to ensure that projects are being delivered as efficiently as possible.

 

What is expected of You

  • Produce project plans and resource requirement forecasts
  • Manage and allocate resource to deliver projects as efficiently as possible and to the required standard
  • Produce process and work instruction documentation to ensure the project is being delivered as efficiently as possible.
  • Produce & Maintain risk register and put a plan in place to mitigate the effects these risks have on the project plan.
  • Update and maintain trackers and record systems.
  • Provide daily/weekly updates to line manager.
  • Communicate and liaise with client representatives.
  • Provide full estimate of project costs and manage DFEs as they arise.
  • Provide detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reports on project and personnel KPIs.
  • Assist in the implementation of a Workflow Management System to manage the delivery of projects across the whole company.

 

Who You Are

  • A degree qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Programme/Project Management qualification.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.

Fibre Planning Manager

 

What You will Do


ipOne are seeking an individual to manage a 20 person plus design team delivering FTTH designs on a large Telecommunications project. You will be based in our Kilkenny office and report to our Operations Manager.

 

What is expected of You

  • Produce project plans and resource requirement forecasts
  • Manage and develop a team delivering FTTH architecture designs
  • Ensure team is trained to ensure that designs meet clients engineering guidelines
  • Provide final sign off on core and technical aspects of FTTH designs
  • Document, control, and maintain accurate record systems and procedures
  • Provide weekly reports to client and operations manager as required
  • Develop methodologies to assist with improving project efficiency
  • Produce project and resource plans, and Feeder and Distribution Network Design Packs
  • Produce technical documentation and work instruction
  • Produce SED & risk register and put a plan in place
  • Ensure GIS system is maintained to maximise project efficiency

 

Who You Are

  • A graduate in Electronic Engineering, Data communications, Networks or a related field
  • A qualified project manager in Prince 2 or PMP or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in telecommunications planning management
  • Proven ability to lead design teams
  • Effective communicator with your team, the client and management

 

What You will Know & Understand

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Capable of using AutoCAD or GIS system (Smallworld, Connectmaster or Bentley Microstation, QGIS).
  • Civils, Cabling and Network Activation experience.
  • Good technical knowledge of fibre networks.
  • Knowledge of Local Authorities road-works codes of practice

GIS Technicians

 

What you will do?

ipOne are seeking individuals who will enhance ipOnes design team. Due to expansion and growth, we have an exciting opportunities for GIS Technicians to work with us in the vibrant city of Kilkenny!

 

In this role, you will be working as part of the Planning Team and will have you will have key involvement in the planning an modelling of new Telecoms networks. This will involve planning & modelling Civil / Cable Routes, producing maps and drawings, and provide GIS and mapping support to field staff.

 

What are the key functions of your role?

  • Compile and update data capture information on GIS software and systems.
  • Perform data conversion using GIS software and systems.
  • Manage and maintain data set on our system.
  • Troubleshoot GIS problems and work with design team to resolution.
  • Ensure outputs are to the highest quality and adhere to client satisfaction.
  • Draw up RF electrical/fibre networks and schematics.
  • Design and draw up proposed duct routes on scale maps.
  • Produce working documentation and works instructions.
  • Provide full estimate of project materials and labour costs.
  • Produce Bills of Quantities and Bills of Materials.

 

What experience and personal attributes you have

  • A degree qualification in Electronic Engineering / Data communications /Networks or a related field is desireable
  • GIS skills

Fibre Network Planners

 

What you will do?

ipOne are seeking individuals who will enhance ipOnes design team. Due to expansion and growth, we have an exciting opportunities for Fibre Network Planners to work with us in the vibrant city of Kilkenny!

In this role, you will be working as part of the Planning Team and will have key involvement in FTTx network modelling, planning Civil & Cable Routes, produce cabling and splicing and termination schedules and generate BOMs & BOQs.

 

What are the key functions of your role?

You will be planning & designing the FTTx metro networks from fundamental design stage right through to Low Level Design, which involves;

  • Feeder Network Design
  • Distribution Network Design
  • Completion of BOMs and BOQs
  • Completion of design risk assessments
  • Produce documentation on cabinet sites for presenting to the Local Authority.
  • Produce SED & project risk report.
  • Ensure designs meet the clients architectural and technical requirements and standards.

 

What experience and personal attributes you have

 

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Services / Building Services / Civil Engineering.
  • Over 3 years experience in FTTx planning.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or GIS software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focused with a proven track record in your current role.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, conscientious and have an ability to work on your own initiative is also essential.
  • Decision making experience.
  • Experience of designing fibre networks alongside power cables desirable.
  • Experience working on BT Openreach Network advantageous.

SDH Migration Project Engineers – Greater London

 

What you will do?

Due to expansion and growth, we have an exciting opportunities for SDH Migration Project Engineers to work in the Greater London area.

We are looking for seasoned and experienced SDH project/migration engineers who have worked on large scale SDH deployment and migration projects to join our team on an exciting and long term project.

The Project Engineer must have the ability to design and execute solutions to enable migration of SDH services residing on Legacy products to newer technology and platforms.

 

Key Skills

  • Understands both SDH and SONET
  • Circuit Audit at equipment and inventory level
  • Access Tail/Vendor Audit
  • Able to work with large volumes of data
  • Able to define migration strategy’s to minimise disruption to customers
  • Converse with other technology layer Project Engineers (Fibre, DWDM, IP)
  • Able to work from E1 to STM64
  • Provisioning of new circuits or paths
  • Able to execute Migration of SDH services

Senior Project Engineers – Greater London

 

What you will do?

Due to expansion and growth, we have an exciting opportunities for Senior Project Engineers (IP or Transport) to work in the Greater London area.

We are looking for Senior Project Engineers who have a wide range of experience in DC/POP Migration/Exits and Build. We are specifically looking for those who the ability to Design, Plan, Implement, including migration to support long term projects.

The projects will have a wide variety of technologies, so its imperative that the engineers have the ability learn unfamiliar product types or technologies if required.

Key Technology Skills

  • Fibre (external and Internal)
  • SDH (E1 to 10GE)
  • DWDM/OTN
  • MPLS/IP (VPLS, VPN’s, IPVPN, etc..)
